Enlightenment=Light Hearted

Hi friends

Enlightenment=Light Hearted

When we hear the word enlightenment, we envision it with some grand spiritual awakening where we acquire it from a great zen Buddhist monk, who has spent hours meditating in a monastery.

But a new concept has come into my awareness around enlightenment where it’s being light hearted, worry free, calm, relaxed and open to the lighter sider of life.

I like this concept because it’s less serious than the original one of meditating for hours, and it can be adopted right here, right now regardless of circumstances.

For me, light hearted is the feeling of joy and laughter, sometimes and especially lately, I’ve felt so light hearted and full of fun that I want to make a joke of everything, and when you’re like this you give everyone around you permission to be light hearted too.

At the roundabout, whilst driving, there was a man standing in a spider man outfit with a big banner saying “Buy one, get one free at Papa Johns” I waved at him and he waved back. I thought wow what a great idea to sell pizza, humour will always be a good selling point.

There’s a guy in Hitchin who rides about on his bike with his arms in the air almost dancing on his bike, it always brings a smile to my face, although he has been arrested a few times apparently, I’ve seen him lately doing it whilst walking along, less dangerous I think, but it’s light hearted and fun and that’s what life should be about.

So banish those worrisome, anxious, toxic thoughts and lighten up, become enlightened and in the process you will illuminate the world.

Have a great day

Love from
