It’s OK to Fear
Fear is a negative emotion and if not handled properly can be debilitating.
It’s perfectly normal to feel fear and doubt, and negative emotions, for it’s in this place where we send our desires out for what we do want and how we want things to change.
When you feel fear about anything, be it starting a new job, fearing what the future will hold, what a certain person or people will think of you, social situations, embrace the feeling, acknowledge that you’re feeling it and give thanks that you’re aware, but press on anyway, go ahead with going out, send love to that person you fear, look to the positive aspects of starting the new job.
The classic book Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers is excellent if you feel fear a lot, it has short exercises that are very helpful.
I’m going on a big trekking trip next week and I am totally out of my comfort zone, but I do love the feeling of excited anticipation of the unknown, and there’s a certain amount of fear in the mix too, but I would never let that stop me.
So as the book says feel the fear and do it anyway, and know that’s it’s normal and inherent in human nature, and let fear be a stepping stone to your greatness.
