The Highs and Lows
Have you noticed in life that it’s a series of ups and downs, highs and lows.
One minute you’re feeling on top of the world, the next you’re feeling very low and despairing.
Sometimes you feel like you have loads of money, the next you’re scraping around waiting for the next pay day.
One week you’re going out a lot and having an amazing social life, the next you hardly see anyone and feel a bit lonely.
You would’ve forgiven for thinking that it’s outside circumstances that are dictating these highs and lows, that you’re reacting to the things that are going on around you.
But this is not so, it’s the other way around, your reality is reacting to how you”re feeling and thinking, and in any given moment you do have control over this.
When I was trekking in the Himalayas, the day after a gruelling trek, where I had felt exhausted and a bit low, I would always wake up the next morning feeling elated and full of life, this is because instinctively I knew how I did want to feel and I created that feeling deliberately in order for my good feelings to return.
So you can create more highs than lows in your life, just by getting into the habit of thinking thoughts that feel good to you, and watch as the world around you converges to your song.
